(9) Esau & Jacob

 

Isaac married a woman named "Rebekah."

 

When Rebekah was pregnant,

God told her

 

"The oldest child will serve the younger one."

 

When the twins were born

the first boy was named Esau.

He was red and hairy all over.

 

Right behind him came his younger brother "Jacob."

 

Many years later,

Isaac was old to the point

where he was not able to see anymore.

 

He wanted to bless his favorite son Esau

before he died.

 

The blessing that God promised Abraham a long time ago.

 

However, when Rebekah found out

Isaac was going to give all the blessing to Esau,

she quickly called her favorite son Jacob

and prepared a dish for Isaac.

 

Jacob pretended to be his older brother Esau

,with the help of his mother Rebekah, 

when he was offering the dish to his father Isaac.

 

Because Isaac was not able to see,

Isaac did bless Jacob instead of Esau.

 

Esau was very upset with his brother Jacob

for what he had done, so

Jacob ran away to his uncle's house to be safe.

(8) Abraham & Isaac

 

God gave Abraham and his wife Sarah a son "Isaac."

 

Many years later, God came to Abraham and said

 

"Abraham, I want you to take your son whom you love,

and sacrifice your son as an offering to me."

 

Abraham took the woods and put it on the donkey,

and then Abraham, Isaac, and 2 of his servants

went to the mountain.

 

When Abraham and Isaac got to the mountain,

Abraham built an altar.

and then he tied his son Isaac with rope

and laid him on the altar.

 

He took out his knife and raised it.

 

Right then the angel of God called out,

"Abraham! Abraham!"

 

"Now I know you truly believe in me."

 

and God prepared a ram for his sacrifice.

 

so Abraham named the place

"The Lord will provide."

 

And then God blessed Abraham again

because he obeyed His command.

(7) Sodom and Gomorrah

 

In the days of Abraham,

there were 2 cities named Sodom and Gomorrah.

 

The people who lived there

did not care about God and

had tuned away from God.

 

God looked at the cities

and knew it was time to

get rid of the evil in those cities.

 

When Abraham was told

what God was about to do,

Abraham argued with God.

 

"What if there are some good people

living in the city?" Abraham asked God.

 

"I will not destroy the city

for those some good people." God answered.

 

Abraham kept asking with the less number of people,

"What if there are only 10 good people?

 

"For those 10 people,

I will not destroy the city."

 

God could not even find 10 good people in the city.

 

and then God rained fire onto the cities.

 

The evil of those cities were wiped out.

 

But God saved Lot, Abraham's nephew

and his 2 daughters.

 

 

 

 

(6) Calling Abram

 

God had said to Abram

"Leave your country, your people

and your father's household and

go to the land I will show you.

I will make you into a great nation

and I will bless you;

and all peoples on earth

will be blessed through you."

 

So Abram left, as the God had told him.

 

Abram took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot,

and other people to the Land of Canaan.

 

God promised to give the land

to Abram's descendants.

and gave Abram a new name

"Abraham."

 

Abram believed the God,

and he credited it to him as righteousness.

 

(5) The tower of Babel

 

The whole world had one language and a common idea.

 

As men moved eastward,

they found a plain in Shinar and settled there.

 

They started building a tower with an intention

to reach the heavens,

so that they could make a name for themselves.

 

But God looked at it

and did not like what they were doing.

 

So God scattered them, by confusing their language, 

from there over all the earth,

and they stopped building the tower.

(4) Noah

 

There were many people living on the earth.

 

But the people did not think about God,

they only cared about themselves.

 

God was angry at all the evil doings in the world.

 

so God started looking throughout the earth

to find a righteous man.

 

God found a man named Noah.

 

and commanded Noah to build an ark.

 

Noah and his three sons built an ark as God instructed.

and God sent a pair of every animal to the ark 

to save them as well. 

 

Finally, God caused a great flood on the earth.

The rain continued for 40 days and nights.

Every living beings were dead except

Noah's family and the animals in the ark.

 

150 days after the flood began

the ark landed on the top of a mountain called Ararat.

 

Noah and his family came out and

the first thing they did was to give thanks to God.

 

 Then God established a covenant with Noah:

"Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood,

I have set my rainbow in the clouds as a sign"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

(3) The first murderer

 

 

Adam and Eve had two sons, Cain and Abel.

 

One day, they both praised God.

 

Abel did it the way God wanted

 

But Cain did it in his way.

 

God liked Abel's praise

 

But God did not take Cain's praise.

 

Cain was mad because God did not take his praise

 

so Cain killed his little brother Abel.

(2) The seperation

 

Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden.

In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the

tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Lord God commanded the man,

"You are free to eat from any tree in the garden;

but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,

for when you eat from it you will certainly die."

One day, the woman was tempted by the serpent.

She took some and ate it.

She also gave some to her husband, and he ate it.

When the Lord God found that out,

God cursed the serpent.

God gave pains in childbearing very severely for the woman.

and caused the man to labor in order to eat.

and the Lord God banished them from the Garden of Eden

to work the ground from which they had been taken.

(1) The creation

DAY 1 - God created light and seperated the light from the darkness.

DAY 2 - God created the sky.

DAY 3 - God created the ground and seperated the water. Also created plants and trees.

DAY 4 - God created the sun, moon, and the stars.

DAY 5 - God created the sea animals and winged animals.

DAY 6 - God created the land animals, also created man and woman in His own image.

DAY 7 - God blessed the seventh day and made it holy,because on it he rested from all the work.
